The Rotary Junior Community Awards is a non-competitive award for year 6 students that gets them involved in the community.
The students work through a list of activities which are designed to increase knowledge about community values, and give satisfaction in volunteering.
The sponsoring Rotary Club will set the activities and assist the students.
The Rotary Junior Community Awards are currently operating in approximately 30 schools in our district, and being completed by about 200 students.
The students are provided with a diary of community activities to work through.
When they've completed all the tasks there is a formal ceremony to congratulate them, and they're presented with a certificate.
